Call for Applications and Nominations: Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Society 2012 Awards
The Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Society (OTS) offers the opportunity for members and non-members to apply for various awards that reflect the accomplishments and potential of oligonucleotide therapeutics.
Dr. Alan Gewirtz Memorial Scholarship
Established with the goal of furthering the field of oligonucleotides by supporting outstanding new scientists, the OTS created the Dr. Alan Gewirtz Memorial Scholarship in 2011 as a tribute to his life and work. Dr. Gewirtz was very influential in the field of oligonucleotides as well as in the establishment of the OTS. His passing in November 2010 inspired the society to create this scholarship in his honor for exceptional young scientists (graduate students, post-docs or post-doctoral fellows) in the field. The award recipient will receive $2,000 and a registration waiver for the 2012 Annual Meeting.
Application Guidelines
1. Prior winners are not eligible to apply.
2. Applicants will be reviewed based on an abstract submission, CV, publication list, and one letter of recommendation.
3. Deadline to apply is Friday, July 20th, 2012.
Note: Award recipient is not required to attend the Annual Meeting, although is highly encouraged to do so.
