Award: The lecturer receives a $2,000 honorarium, airfare to ONS Congress to present lecture, and two-day per diem expenses.
Purpose: The Mara Mogensen Flaherty Memorial Lectureship Award supports an annual lecture on a topic related to the psychosocial aspects of cancer diagnosis, treatment, and care presented by an individual who is involved in the field of psychosocial oncology, cancer care, education or research. The lecture is presented at the ONS Annual Congress.
Eligibility: Candidates for this award must be health care professionals, and may or may not be members of ONS. Candidates must agree to deliver a prepared 45-minute lecture during the ONS Annual Congress.
Although not an eligibility requirement of the award, recipients are encouraged to submit an article based on the lecture to ONS for publication. The decision to publish the article would fall within the ONS journal approval process for articles.
