Who can apply?
International students from relevant disciplines (biology, medicine, psychology, physics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, ...) who plan to pursue a research career in Computational Neuroscience, and who have at least one peer reviewed publication (as coautor) or peer reviewed conference abstract (as first author) that resulted from predoctoral studies and was accepted or published in 2009 or 2010.
Applications must contain:
- academic curriculum vitae
- publication list (incl. reviewed conference abstracts)
- letter of motivation
- recommendation letter of academic advisor, stating that the publication was submitted before the candidate started his/her doctoral studies
- copies of degree certificates
- copy of one selected paper or reviewed conference abstract
- copy of acceptance letter if paper has not appeared yet.
The award contains:
500 € prize money, plus travel grant of up to 1.500 € for a one-week trip to Germany, incl. a talk at the Award Ceremony and an individually planned visit to up to three German research institutions in Computational Neuroscience.
