Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation Clinical/Biomedical Engineering Achievement Award
The AAMI Clinical/Biomedical Engineering Achievement Award recognizes individual excellence and achievement in the clinical and biomedical engineering fields. In any year, the award may be given to either a clinical or biomedical engineer.
Candidates must demonstrate:
* An outstanding service and/or accomplishment with a significant impact on: clinical or biomedical engineering management improvements; patient care; cost savings; or improvements in the use or impact of technology
* Employment as a clinical and/or biomedical engineer for at least 5 years.
Candidates must demonstrate two or more of the following types of activities:
This is not intended to be an exhaustive or exclusive list. The following are examples representative of individual excellence. Nominators may submit evidence of additional or other types of activities relevant to this award and to the candidate’s achievements.
* Involvement in national, state, or local clinical/ biomedical engineering organizations,
* Involvement in a standards development process (such as AAMI, NFPA, JCAHO standards),
* Contribution through publications in journals or development of educational programs,
* Special recognition by candidate’s employer for contribution to management improvements; patient care; cost savings, or improvements in the use or impact of technology, and/or,
* Substantial contribution to an AAMI or other organizational program.
Award includes a $2,500 check and a plaque to be presented at AAMI's Annual Conference.
