Student Scholarship in Surgical Technology
The Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and SurgicalAssisting (ARC/STSA) is committed to the advancement of surgical technology and the continuingeducation of individuals entering and working within the profession. The ARC/STSA Student ScholarshipProgram is designed to assist AST student members pursuing their education in CAAHEP accreditedsurgical technology programs. At least one scholarship of up to $1000 will be awarded annually.ARC/STSA Student Scholarship
Requirements for consideration:1. Completed and signed application.2. Proof of attendance at a CAAHEP accredited surgical technology program.3. Proof of student membership in the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST).4. Official transcript verifying a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (or more on a 4.0 scale), or an equivalentscale acceptable to the ARC/STSA.5. Submission of an original essay (minimum 1,200 to maximum 1,500 words) describing howthis award will assist you in reaching your educational objectives and the ultimate goal of beinga surgical technology practitioner.6. Letter of recommendation from the surgical technology program director evaluating thecandidate’s potential for a career in the profession of surgical technology.Scholarship applications will not be considered unless completely filled out, signed, and accompanied byall appropriate supporting documentation. Application must be received on or before March 1, 2010.
