In addition, the fellow’s travel-related expenses incurred to attend the 2011 AASLD Annual Meeting and 2012 Digestive Disease Week® will be reimbursed up to $2,000 per meeting and according to guidelines provided prior to each meeting. Awards cannot be transferred to another institution and recipients cannot change their mentor without prior written approval from AASLD.
Recipients must provide a final report by July 31, 2012, summarizing their activities related to this award. The report is to be sent to AASLD and is not considered confidential. In addition, a financial report from the institution must be sent to AASLD at the end of the award year, together with any unexpended funds, also no later than July 31, 2012. The awardee’s institution will be notified of reports that are not received in a timely manner. In the event that a grant is canceled, AASLD can not assume responsibility for expenditures in excess of payments already made to the awardee’s institution prior to the effective date of cancellation. All unexpended funds must be returned to AASLD. If an award is to be canceled, the recipient must provide written explanation to AASLD.
