American Society of Transplant Surgeons/Roche Presidential Student Mentor Award

ASTS and Roche Laboratories are dedicated to providing exposure to the field of transplantation to medical students by supporting summer mentorship opportunities under the guidance of an ASTS member.

Amount

$3,500 paid in one installment to the Awardee’s institution.

Applicant Eligibility

Please review these eligibility requirements carefully to ensure that you apply for an appropriate award.

* Medical Student with an interest in transplantation.
* Proposed research project must be transplant related (clinical or basic science) and performed under the direction of an ASTS member.

Submission Requirements

* Online Application Form.
* Narrative: One page (500 word maximum) that explains the proposed research (provided by applicant with input from the ASTS member).
* Autobiography: 1 page maximum explaining student's educational background. Briefly state the reason for applying for the award and future plans and goals.
* Budget: 1 page maximum
* Letter of Support from the ASTS Member Sponsor
* CV

Other Requirements

* Awardee or ASTS Member Sponsor must attend the ASTS Awards Ceremony at ATC to formally accept the award.
* A report to the ASTS National Office must be submitted at the conclusion of the internship.
