Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates Associates Program Scholarship

This is a quarterly scholarship and the deadlines for submission are March 1, June 1, September 1 and December 1.

SGNA Associates Program Scholarships have been established to financially assist SGNA associate/technician members and non members with purchasing the Associates Program. The Associates Program is an online education program that provides an associate/technician the opportunity to validate their skills by being recognized as a GI Technical Specialist (GTS). The Associates Program is not an official certification but does help enforce the associate/technician commitment to the GI/endoscopy profession. Scholarships covering the cost of the Associates Program will be awarded quarterly to those members and non members who meet the established criteria. The number of scholarships awarded will depend upon funds available.

Eligibility:

You may be eligible for an SGNA Associates Program Scholarship if:

1. You are an associate or technician.

2. You have been a member of SGNA for two or more years and are currently in good standing or you are a non member that has been employed in the GI/ endoscopy field for at least 3 years.

3. You must currently be employed as a caregiver in gastroenterology.

4. You must actively support the goals and philosophy of SGNA.

5. If you are a non member, you can show documentation of attendance at an SGNA event on the national or regional level.

6. You demonstrate financial need.

You are ineligible if:

1. You have previously received a scholarship from SGNA.

2. You are a member of the SGNA Board of Directors.

3. If you are a Registered Nurse.

National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians Scholarship Program

To allow for the advancement of EMS personnel, NAEMT is proud to offer scholarship opportunities for individual, active members

The following scholarships are available:

First Responders (To become EMT-Basic) – up to $500 each
EMT-Basic (To become EMT-Paramedic) – up to $5,000 each
Paramedics (To advance education in the realm of EMS) – up to $2,000 each
Degree completion program offered through The College Network – up to $2,500 each
Scholarship Guidelines

Applicant must be an individual, active member of NAEMT.  Student, squad or trial members must upgrade to individual, active membership status in order to qualify.

Applicant must submit a complete and accurate application by the stated deadline.

Applicant must submit a letter of request, in 1,000 words or less, that describes why he or she is pursuing  educational scholarship, his or her educational and employment goals, and how the scholarship would be of benefit.

EMS scholarships are not awarded for course work already taken.

Scholarship payments are made directly to the educational institution. The institution must submit an invoice to NAEMT for payment.

Recipients must maintain current, active NAEMT membership status for the duration of the course of study in order to access scholarship funds.

Recipient must begin the educational program and begin accessing the scholarship in the term for which the award is granted. Funds will be available up to the scholarship limit for recipient who continues his or her educational program without interruption into the next school year.

Recipient who withdraws or discontinues the educational program prior to completion for reasons within his or her control (i.e., dropping the course, academic dismissal for absences, etc.) must immediately refund scholarship funds.  No refund will be required for recipient who is unable to continue in the EMS program for reasons beyond their control. Proof of reasons for program termination will be required.

Recipient must maintain passing grades and remain in good standing throughout the course of study. Recipient may be asked to submit grades each term prior to the next scholarship payment.

Recipient of EMS scholarships must seek certification by testing upon completion of their Emergency Medical Technician or EMT-Paramedic program.

Recipient must provide follow-up information and respond to NAEMT requests pertaining to their education and career.

Recipient must sign a contract agreeing to these scholarship guidelines.

Scholarship Selection Process

1. Only those applications which are complete and received by the deadline will be considered.
2. NAEMT will notify all applicants by email of the status of their application.
3. The following criteria will be used in the scholarship selection process:
Dedication to the profession;
Financial need;
Dedication to the community;
Service as a positive ambassador for NAEMT

American Academy of Periodontology Educator Scholarship

Application Deadline: June 1

The $25,000 AAP Educator Scholarship provides financial relief to a student intending to pursue a career as a full-time teacher at a U.S. periodontal program upon graduation from a U.S. periodontal postdoctoral training program. The scholarship is intended to provide help with tuition and living expenses during the training period and may also be used for debt reduction. The Educator Scholar must commit to spending one year as a full-time periodontal educator at a U.S. program for each year he/she receives the award.
