Bound Tree Medical has introduced its first ever Scholarship Award, the Legacy Scholarship Program, aimed at promoting the professional status of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). This program will award $50,000 in scholarships to children of EMTs and Firefighters interested in becoming EMTs, or furthering their certification by becoming Paramedics. The scholarship awards will be available nationwide for those who fit the eligibility criteria and are interested in pursuing a state approved certification program.

May 1, 2009 - Tenth round scholarship materials due
June 12, 2009 - Decisions on tenth round of scholarships
June 19, 2009 - Notifications to be received by candidates

What are the requirements for the scholarship program?
You must be the son or daughter of a career or volunteer firefighter or EMT, who is on active duty, retired or deceased.
You must plan to attend a state approved EMT Basic certification program or increase your level of certification through an EMT Intermediate or Paramedic certification program.
Do you have to meet both requirements to apply?
Yes.
How much money am I eligible to apply for?
Basic program – 50% of program fees up to $500.
EMT Intermediate or Paramedic – 50% of program fees up to $2,500.
Awards will be based on the cost of your program.
