Call for Submissions: ASSAY and Drug Development Technologies Postdoc Manuscript Award for 2014
ASSAY and Drug Development Technologies is proud to announce the First Annual Competition for the best Original Research paper by a postdoc from an accredited fellowship training program in any subspecialty related to the scope of our Journal. All current postdocs are encouraged to participate. The Award carries with it a $2,500 USD prize and a certificate of scholarly excellence issued by Mary Ann Liebert, Inc., publishers.
The submission deadline for all papers is June 2, 2014.
Manuscripts should be submitted through our online submission system and be accompanied by a letter from the training program director verifying that the principal author is a current trainee at the time of the submission and that this work was performed during the training period. The cover letter should include reference to your grant funding source as well as a statement from the trainee that they wish this manuscript to be entered into the fellow competition. Papers should follow all Journal manuscript submission requirements as stated in the instructions for authors. Manuscripts should be submitted under the “2014 Fellows Competition” manuscript type.
All manuscripts will undergo expert review and be considered for publication in our Journal. Accepted manuscripts will be published in a timely manner. Research manuscripts must not have been previously published in print or electronic format and must not have been submitted to any other journal during consideration. An award committee has been convened to make recommendations for the selection of the 2014 winner. The award will be announced in the March 2015 issue of ASSAY and Drug Development Technologies.
Papers will be judged on originality, science, presentation, grant support, and interest to our Journal readership.

Call for Applications: 2014 American Chemical Society Green Chemistry Institute Pharmaceutical Roundtable Research Grant for Reduction of Amides
ACS GCI Pharmaceutical Roundtable's Medicinal Chemistry group is seeking to fund a one year R&D program targeting the identification and development of alternatives to the commonly employed stoichiometric hydride-based reagents or transition-metal catalyzed silane reductions, with a focus on substrates that are widely applicable to the pharmaceutical industry. Proposals are invited from public and private institutions of higher education worldwide. This collaborative project is intended for a student within the selected Principal Investigator's research group. One grant in the amount of $50,000 will be awarded to support execution of research for a period of 1 year. Deadline for receipt of proposals is June 4th, 2014 at 5 PM EDT (GMT-4).
Call for Applications: United States Pharmacopeial Convention Global Fellowship Awards Program
The USP Global Fellowship Awards Program promotes research in areas relating to standards for medicines, foods, and dietary supplements and their use. Since the inception of the USP Global Fellowship Awards Program in 1981, USP has invested nearly $4 million in more than 200 Fellowship awards.
USP Global Fellowship Awards of up to $50,000 are presented to the students whose proposed research directly address a specific USP scientific or research need. This program offers up to three years of funding. Applicants must ensure that their research topic is in close alignment to USP research priorities.
Applicants for the USP Global Fellowship Awards must
Have been accepted for full-time study in a Ph.D. or Pharm.D. program or medical or dental school;
Have been accepted to a Fellowship Program; or
Have been awarded a postdoctoral research (non-faculty) appointment.
Non-U.S. applicants must have a background in standards and currently be enrolled in an equivalent educational program. International students must possess the appropriate visa required to participate in the Global Fellowship Awards Program. USP will not assist students to obtain a visa for this purpose. USP may require proof of visa status as a condition of offering a Fellowship to a student.
Applicants for Global Fellowship Awards may not currently be in receipt of funds from USP, or directly or indirectly under contract with USP, even if the activity is unrelated to applicant’s research proposal.
The USP Global Fellowship Award allows for subsequent year's funding; however, second awards are not automatic. Applications for continued funding must include a progress report on the research up to the time of application.
