American Society of Radiologic Technologists Education and Research Foundation Research Seed Grant Program
We are committed to supporting the research and analysis of issues that affect the radiologic sciences. The research seed grant program assists registered radiologic technologists and radiation therapists with an award of up to $3,000 for research in affiliation with an academic or clinical institution. Researchers conducting preliminary or pilot phase research studies are especially encouraged to apply for the seed grant.
Important Dates
Proposals are considered twice yearly. To have your proposal reviewed, submit a completed application by March 1 for the spring round and August 1 for the fall round. Applicants are notified of funding decisions by June 1 for the spring round or December 1 for the fall round.
Eligibility Requirements
Applications must be submitted by an ASRT member who is also registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (or equivalent) or an ASRT member who holds an unrestricted state license or who is enrolled in an accredited radiologic sciences program.
Proposed research projects must be for a period not to exceed one year. Acceptable areas of research include radiation therapy, dosimetry, medical imaging, and radiologic science education and administration.
Previous grant recipients are eligible to apply. ASRT Education and Research Foundation Board of Trustees, staff and their immediate family members are ineligible.
Grantee Requirements
If your research proposal is awarded a grant, a grant award package will be sent to you via e-mail. The award package contains important information regarding your award disbursement. You also will receive grant agreement and release forms to be signed and returned to the Foundation.
All grant recipients must agree to:
Allow the ASRT and ASRT Foundation to make information about the project proposal (including name of researchers and affiliated institutions) publicly available
Complete the final report form
Prior to submitting the full proposal, you may submit a letter of intent for preliminary review of your proposal concept. Letters of intent are reviewed by the ASRT Research Department and feedback will be provided regarding the proposed research relevancy, objective and methodology. Letters of intent are accepted on an ongoing basis via e-mail to the foundation@asrt.org.
